Girl Friday: The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

I've been asked several times how long it takes for me to put together an outfit for an event. The honest answer is that I tend to leave it to the last minute - I grab something along here, something from there and it's already time to hail a taxi.

A few months ago, when Estonian perfume master Tony Veiler told me the happy news that he was launching his sixth perfume, I decided that this celebration perhaps deserved some extra preparation. But two days before the event, I still hadn't thought about what I would wear. So I started going through my clothes and managed to do a little bit of shopping in my wardrobe.

There's a story with this dress - I bought it last summer, with several ideas in my head about places I could wear it to. But in the end I tried it on, stored it in a drawer and promptly forgot about it for a while, only to find it shortly before Tony's event. I guess it was just waiting for the right time, because the name of Tony's perfume suggests pastel shades to me and the dress seemed perfect for the occasion. So I quickly took her to my tailor, who trimmed it a little bit so it wouldn't be too big for me, and soon enough we could get the party started.

This silk Japanese haori has everything I love - there are light blue and light pink hydrangeas and it went perfectly with the dress. And finally, I took my trusty pink Wandler bag, which I've worn for years and never get tired of. It's the same with shoes - when I find favourites, I tend to wear the same ones over and over again.

It was quite nice after a long while to have a dress, a haori, a crossbody and a pair of shoes that work together so perfectly that it's as if the outfit was assembled by a magician. And it's even better to have a night when you feel flawless. Perhaps that sentiment sums up how I feel about T-Perfume's new fragrance "The Sweetness of Doing Nothing". Happy Friday!

Küllap ta ootaski õiget aega, sest Tony parfüümi nimi viitab minu silmis just pastelsetele toonidele. Niisiis viisin kleidi kiirelt rätsepa juurde, kes võttis alt jupi lühemaks ja kleit oligi tip-top.

Sellel siidist Jaapanis käsitööna valminud haoril on kõik, mida ma armastan - siin on helesinised ja heleroosad hortensiad, mis on juhuslikult minu lemmikuimad lilled just nendes värvides. Suvi polekski suvi, kui neid lilli aias poleks. Boonusena sobis haori kleidi peale valatult.

Ehk võtab see minu emotsioon ka kokku T-Perfume uue parfüümi nime “The Sweetness of Doing Nothing”. Ilusat reedet!
